Biography:

• Barbara Jemphrey qualified as a solicitor in 1989.  She worked in a private practice and in house until being appointed to the Institute in 2001.
• Barbara holds a Judicial appointment being appointed Chairman of Northern Ireland Valuation Tribunals in 2007.
• Barbara was appointed External Expert of the Review Panel appointed by the Law Society of Ireland to review the provision of vocational legal education within that jurisdiction.
• Barbara was also appointed as a contributor to the Politics Plus Programme at Stormont Assembly.

Teaching:

• Barbara was appointed senior lecturer (Education) in 2007
• Barbara was appointed Director in June 2019
• Responsible for Solicitor Professional Skills and Development module
• Barbara is coach for the IPLS Mediation Team, which compete in the UK Universities Mediation Competition and the International Mediation Competition
• She is the National Representative for the International Negotiation Competition
• Member of UK Universities Committee
