Director DARO

The Development and Alumni Relations Office secures philanthropic support from a range of individuals and organisations in the UK and beyond to enable Queen's to fulfil institutional ambitions and to enhance the student experience.  It also builds lifelong links between Queen’s and its worldwide community of more than 160,000 alumni and supporters.  Since its establishment in 1999, the Development and Alumni Relations Office, in partnership with the University and the Queen’s Foundation, has completed two successful fundraising campaigns generating over £290 million, underlining the growing importance of philanthropy and alumi engagement.

Queen’s is a magnet for inward investment, a major employer and investor, a patron of the arts and a global player in areas ranging from cancer studies to sustainability and from food security to cyber security.  Philanthropic funding plays a vital role in enabling the University to implement its bold and imaginative plans.

The Director will be responsible for leading philanthropy and alumni relations at Queen’s University Belfast. Working closely with the President and Vice-Chancellor and Registrar and Chief Operating Officer, you will lead, deliver and articulate an institutional strategy for fundraising and alumni relations, that supports the University’s global ambitions.

To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record at a senior level in the higher education or charity sector.  You will also have substantial fundraising experience and a track record of building effective long-term, high-value global philanthropic relationships, to include experience of face to face major gift fundraising across a range income streams.

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.

The deadline for applications is 25 February 2019.
