Supporting Disclosures of Sexual Misconduct

Supporting Disclosures of Sexual Misconduct

The University has a duty to provide neutral and balanced support to all students, whether the student is reporting or responding to an allegation of sexual misconduct.

A disclosure will be unique to each student's situation and it is important to remain calm, reassure the student, assess the situation/risk, listen to their story and provide suitable support and guidance around their options.

Sexual misconduct can happen to anyone and it is cruical that staff members create a safe space for the student affected so that they are aware of their options and can make an informed choice.
