The Estates Development Division covers all aspects of project delivery associated with the University’s Capital Programme. This can range from the procurement of minor works to large-scale refurbishment and new-build projects across every area of the estate, with the aim of enhancing the experience of all students and staff.
Key Functions
The Development team seeks to demonstrate innovation, best practice, and to deliver value for money – and in doing so limit the impact to the University’s core business through effective communication with key stakeholders.
The team’s staff includes chartered engineers, surveyors, and architects, together with Clerk of Works, Mechanical Inspectors, and Electrical Inspectors. Team members are encouraged to push their boundaries and work closely with Faculties, Schools, and other Directorates in order to seek collaborative opportunities to improve our services. We are very proud of our team and the contribution it makes to the delivery of a world-class sustainable campus.

Major Projects
The Major Project team is headed up by Brian Martin and is responsible for the procurement of contracts and associated professional services for the development of new buildings, completion of major refurbishments and infrastructure enhancements. The team consists of Project Managers, Electrical Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers, together with support from Site Supervisors.
