Gender Identity
Gender identity is how you describe your gender

Students who identify as non-binary, trans or gender queer are more at risk of wellbeing issues and developing certain mental health conditions like depression and anxiety. It’s important to respect and support everyone’s unique identity, we embrace and value diversity and foster inclusion. Coming to terms with your identity and coming out as trans or non-binary can lift a lot of pressure for students, however, we know it can also be a difficult and highly personal process. If your gender identity is affecting your wellbeing and you need support, please reach out to Student Wellbeing. For support, you can join the QUB LGBTQ+ Allies Scheme Network, The Queen's Student Union Pride Society, or external support from Belfast Butterfly Club or TransgenderNI which is a social support and advocacy group for young people in Northern Ireland. Call (+44) 0300 302 3202 or email info@transgenderni.org.uk
