Commitment to Sustainability

This award is a new award for 2022-23.

The award recognises an individual or team who has demonstrated outstanding commitment and dedication to sustainability at the University (outside of Queen's Sustainability team).

Their work will have had a transformative impact on the University, the local community, or wider society, through a project or initiative, or through academic excellence or research.

Prize

£1,000 will be awarded to the winning individual. The team prize is capped at £5,000.

Entry Criteria

  • Award entries should relate to work undertaken in the period between 1 August 2022 and 31 July 2023.
  • This award is open to both individuals and teams. Please note, teams should comprise of no more than 20 members.
  • If the nominee(s) have collaborated with partners outside Queen's for a particular project, they can be included in the nomination, however, please note that only Queen's staff members can be named as winners and awarded prize money.
  • The nominees for this award must be based outside of the Queen's Sustainability team, ie. sustainability should not be the main focus of their role.

Nomination Advice

The Judging panel will be looking for details on how this individual or team have demonstrated their commitment and dedication to sustainability through their actions. They will want to know about the work that has been done, how it's been done, and the impact it has had.
