In this presentation, I will first outline theoretical and empirical support to examine positive memory processes (beyond traumatic memory processes) among individuals reporting posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms. Next, I will provide information and pilot study findings on a novel treatment developed in my research lab that aims to capitalize on positive memory content to help individuals reporting PTSD symptoms (Processing of Positive Memories Technique). Finally, I will end with some future research directions in this under-researched area.
