Getting started

New students must complete Online Registration via the Qsis Registration Wizard and Onsite Registration at the Medical Biology Centre (MBC).

Returning students are only required to complete Online Registration via Qsis.

The Registration Wizard opens for:

Undergraduate (New students) Monday 10 September 2018 at 10.00am
Undergraduate (Returning students) Tuesday 11 September 2018 (time will be emailed to you)
Postgraduate (New and Returning) Wednesday 12 September 2018 at 10.00am

If registration is not fully completed by 19 October 2018, you will be withdrawn from the University. If you wish to re-register and are permitted to do so, a re-registration fee of £50 will be charged.

Steps for new students

Registration consists of:

  • Online Registration: completing all 10 steps of the online Registration Wizard;
  • On-site completion of registration to verify your qualifications and identification;
  • Obtain your Queen’s University Student Card

To complete the online registration you must first log into QSIS

Your log in information will be enclosed in your Welcome letter. All the steps are laid out in the Enrolment and Registration Guide. If you require any further guidance please email or call +44(0)28 9097 3223

Depending on your programme of study, you may be allowed to choose your modules, when using the Registration Wizard. Please note that this differs vastly between programmes and Schools. You must check your Queen's email on an ongoing basis, following receipt, to find out what is required regarding enrolment.

On-site registration must be completed at the Medical Biology Centre (MBC) at the time allocated on your Welcome Letter.

If you are a new student, we need to verify your identification, qualifications and issue your Student Card. This will be during the allocated On-site Registration Time specified on your Welcome letter (unless told otherwise by School).

You must bring with you:

  • Original documentary evidence of academic entrance qualifications and a certified English translation, where applicable;
  • Any financial notification letters received from your Education and Library Board, the Student Loans Company, a sponsor letter or payment;
  • An approved form of identification:

Approved Identification - International Students (non European Union students):

Passport and visa. The University is legally required by UKVI to retain a copy of your immigration documents and ATAS certificate (if required). You will not be permitted to enrol until this check has been completed.

Approved Identification - All other students:

Group 1

A current EU National Identity Card OR

A current UK/EU passport

Group 2

Original Full Birth Certificate issued in the UK which includes the name of at least one of the holder's parents AND

An original official document issued by a Government Agency or previous employer giving the student’s National Insurance Number and name e.g. National Insurance card; Letter from HM Revenue & Customs about Tax or Tax Credit; Letter from Job & Benefits Office; P45 or P60; Payslips; AND

Current Driving Licence issued in the UK or the Republic of Ireland AND

An original Deed Poll or marriage certificate to evidence a change of name, if applicable.

 Group 3

Original Full Birth Certificate issued in the Republic of Ireland which includes the name of at least one of the holder's parents AND

Current Driving Licence issued in the UK or the Republic of Ireland AND

An original Deed Poll or marriage certificate to evidence a change of name, if applicable.

No other forms of identification will be accepted.

Once you have completed all stages you will be fully registered with Queen's.


Successful completion of the online wizard will be confirmed to you by email.

Successful completion of on-site matriculation will be confirmed to you on the day with the issue of a student card.
