Careers Without Limits Week will launch in October at Queen’s University at a showcase event in The Student Centre. During the launch event on 02 October from 11am – 2pm in The Cube, One Elmwood, students will be introduced to a wide range of programmes and events run by the Careers, Employability and Skills Team at Queen’s – all designed to overcome challenges to progression and drive diversity and inclusion in the workplace. She Leads

During this leadership programme for women, students develop their self-acceptance and self-belief and learn to acknowledge their own agency – and learn to stop letting self-doubt hold them back. 

Students will be supported to discover their unique strengths, values and behaviours and develop their sense of agency as they learn to assert themselves, improve their communication style and limit self-doubt.   

Delegates will learn from women leaders and build a support network of like-minded peers as they set themselves goals and challenges and learn to take advantage of opportunity.

Widening Participation Mentoring Programme

Students from disadvantaged backgrounds have the opportunity to take the lead role in improving their employability prospects by teaming up with an industry mentor. Mentors provide ‘real world’ advice, guidance and practical information.

Students will receive support and guidance to develop their leadership, networking, communication, application and interview skills and get to know more about what a certain job might involve.

Future-Ready Skills for International Students Programme 

In this career development programme for international students, students will discover how to build their personal brand, craft an effective CV and cover letter for the UK job market and learn all about the nuances and etiquette of the UK workplace – including how to ace that all-important interview!

The final session brings all these skills together in the Assessment Centre Bootcamp.

Empower Programme in partnership with Specialisterne

Careers, Employability and Skills are committed to producing future-ready graduates and are delighted to partner with Specialisterne to help autistic students and graduates achieve their potential and access full-time employment. Queen’s students are invited to join Specialisterne's neurodiverse community and get support in finding student work.

Students can meet and learn from other autistic and neurodivergent individuals, get help with planning their career using SMART goals, and gain free access to support sessions, workshops, mentoring, a network of employers, CV and interview help, digital credentials, and more.

We’ll be launching applications for the Clinton Scholarship Fund, created to remove financial barriers for Northern Ireland students so they can undertake study opportunities in the USA during their degree at Queen’s.
