Careers, Employability and Skills at Queen’s will launch their semester 1 programme during a showcase event in The Student Centre on 18 September from 11-2pm.

During the launch event, students will be introduced to a wide range of activity and events run by the Careers, Employability and Skills Team at Queen’s – all designed to shape the development of future-ready graduates. These include:

The Future-Ready Award

The Future-Ready Award is an employability award that allows you to gain formal recognition and a certificate for the extracurricular experience you gain during your time at Queen’s.

MyFuture

MyFuture is your early career network and career management platform accessed via desktop or via the Symplicity app. It makes it easier for you to find the right jobs and work experience opportunities.

Every student at Queen’s can log on to the platform for free using their Queen’s email address and password, and you can continue to enjoy access for up to two years after graduation.

Global Opportunities

Every year over 900 Queen’s students take the opportunity to go outside Northern Ireland to study or gain work- related experience. Why not be one of them? There are loads of options and our Global Opportunities team can help you research them – from studying in Europe or Canada to interning on Capitol Hill. Search and find study and work abroad opportunities to suit you on our Go Global Search tool.

Careers Fairs on campus

Our Careers Fairs take place on campus twice a year in October and February offering the opportunity to connect in-person with employers offering work experience, placement and graduate opportunities. We also jointly run the NI Graduate and Recruitment Fair with Ulster University once a year before summer graduation for final year students and recent graduates.

Careers Consultations

We have a dedicated Careers Consultant attached to each School within Queen’s, so you’ll find us delivering workshops and talks in your classes. But you don’t need to wait for us to come to you – come over to ours, where you can access free, impartial advice and guidance anytime by booking a 1-2-1 Careers Consultation.

Our 30-minute consultations can be done online or face-to-face in One Elmwood Student Centre (you’ll find the Guidance Rooms on the first floor, opposite the Student Information Point).

Future-Ready Skills Course

You’ll find the Future-Ready Skills Course on Canvas, the University’s virtual learning platform. Our free Future-Ready Skills Course will help you develop the personal and professional skills that major employers are looking for.
