Welcome to Semester 1!

Here's what is coming up in Careers, Employability & Skills in semester 1

From help with leadership skills, or dealing with imposter syndrome, to working or studying abroad, our Careers events throughout semester one has got you covered.

We are also hosting a number of Themed Weeks and special events in the Foyer of One Elmwood designed to help you break down barriers to career progression,  build your personal brand and develop your early leadership potential.

Themes include Future Leaders Week and Study Abroad Week.

The Careers team will be around One Elmwood foyer on Monday 11 December from 10am - 3pm to tell you all about our plans for semester 2!

Challenge Yourself Week

29 January - 02 February 2024

Challenge yourself to try something new, maybe take part in our annual Stock Market Challenge, open to all students, or sign up for a global opportunity to work or study abroad, or any of our upcoming Careers events.

05 - 09 February 2024

During this week we will be hosting our Spring Fair on 07 February in Mandela, South Dining & Whitla Hall, and also a Go Global showcase in the Cube.

Get Inspired week

12 - 16 February 2024

Get inspired to register for an upcoming Careers Programme, such as Women in Business at Queen's, our Future-Ready Skills International programme for international students, or our Future-Ready Skills Bitesize sessions.

We will be taking this time to concentrate on all things Global Opportunities, find out about ways you can work and study abroad, and attend our Focus on Summer main event.

Work Shadowing Week

25 - 29 March 2024

Some lucky students will get a chance to take part in our popular Work Shadowing Week, where they will spend a day in a local organisation and gain insights into the workplace, observing  professionals in practice.
