Staff
Service Description
Digital and Information Services provides off campus remote access capability using an Always On VPN (AoVPN) service. The AoVPN provides a secure, encrypted, automatic and seamless remote access connection to the University's internal resources for staff and Postgraduate Research (PGR) students (subject to approval) and is available exclusively on QUB managed Windows 11 computers.
Designed to maintain connectivity regardless of location, the AoVPN service establishes a virtual connection whenever an internet connection is available, without requiring manual sign-in. This ensures users can access key systems and services — such as mapped shared drives, intranet resources, research data, print services and internal applications — just as if they were on campus.
