Service Description

The Project Management Office (PMO) is a central support structure within Queen’s University Digital & Information Services Directorate. It provides  and facilitates a range of functions for staff involved in projects across the University:

  • Promotes the use of standardised project management processes
  • Provides project management consulting services
  • Provides access to the PMO SharePoint site for project management advice
  • Develops and maintains project management templates based on best practice PRINCE2 methodology
  • Offers guidance on the use of  templates to  University staff involved in projects
  • Assists with the governance and quality assurance of Projects
  • Monitors and reports status of  project activity
  • Tracks lessons learned from projects
  • Organises and carries out training in project management
  • Provides a central repository for University projects

The PMO service is available from 09:00 – 17.00, Monday to Friday except for Public and agreed Queen’s holidays. Details of which can be found at

The PMO is committed to providing excellent customer service to help and assist with the effective use of the Project Management Office service.  Standard response times to requests are available.
